Francis Maleche Shivonje is a seasoned agricultural expert with over 20 years of experience in sustainable agriculture, agribusiness, and project management. He holds a Master’s degree in Soil Science and a Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture from the University of Nairobi. Francis has a proven track record in developing and managing agricultural programs across sub-Saharan Africa, focusing on agroecology, climate-smart agriculture, and market systems development. He has successfully led multi-million-dollar projects, fostering public-private partnerships to improve farmer livelihoods through sustainable production and market linkages. His expertise includes policy advocacy, integrated pest management, value chain development, and youth and women empowerment in agriculture. Francis has also been instrumental in supporting agroecology enterprises to access finance and scale operations while advocating for inclusive agricultural policies. Currently, he works as a consultant with Biovision Foundation, spearheading agroecology initiatives and private sector engagement in Kenya and Uganda.
