Rootooba joined financial institutions, development partners, and policymakers at the 8th World Congress on Rural and Agricultural Finance, held from October 27–30, 2025, at Sarova Whitesands Beach Resort & Spa in Mombasa, Kenya.
The Congress focused on innovative financing strategies and policy frameworks to strengthen agri-food systems.
Driven by its commitment to the Financing Agri-food Systems Sustainably (FINAS) agenda, the organization used the platform to promote inclusive finance, share insights from past FINAS Dialogues, and mobilize support for the upcoming FINAS 2026 Summit.
Organized by the African Rural and Agricultural Credit Association (AFRACA), the Congress hosted over 250 delegates under the theme “Building Resilient Local Agrifood Systems.”
With support from GIZ Kenya, the team participated as both exhibitor and delegates, aligning its engagement with FINAS 2025 while laying groundwork for the 2026 Summit.
At the exhibition booth, the impact of FINAS Dialogues in shaping agri-finance policy across Africa was a central focus. Insights from previous summits were shared, and stakeholders were invited to engage in FINAS 2026.
A highlight was the visit by Hon. Senator Mutahi Kagwe, Cabinet Secretary for Agriculture and Livestock Development, who interacted with the team and learned about FINAS initiatives.
Congress sessions echoed FINAS priorities, emphasizing knowledge exchange, public development bank investment, and digital innovation.
The event concluded with the Mombasa Declaration, calling for dynamic policies, capacity building, and collaboration reinforcing the organization’s role in agricultural transformation and inclusive finance across Africa.
