Wiebe Smit

As Policy and Impact Innovator, Wiebe aims to accelerate climate action through meaningful partnerships with individuals and organisations that want to bring positive change to the world’s food system. He leads Clim-Eat’s efforts towards key global platforms such as the UN’s Climate COP and coordinates Clim-Eat’s activities in East Africa, including in Kenya, Malawi, Tanzania, Rwanda and Zambia. In Kenya, he spearheads a groundbreaking climate action project to incentivise the uptake of agricultural insurance in Makueni and Nandi Counties, in close collaboration with the county government, farmers, and other relevant stakeholders.
