Over two-and-half decades leading policy advocacy at global, continental and national level engaging thought Leaders, Ministers and Africa Union Head of States for increased public investment in Agriculture.
David led the drafting of Strategic Objective 2 in the Kampala CAADP Strategy and Action Plan (2026-2035) and led the design and delivery of the Youth and Women pavilion at the Kampala Summit2025, enabling over 500 young people to participate at the Summit and engaging with African leaders.
David is currently spearheading a process working closely with the Africa Union Commission (AUC) to develop the Agrifood Finance Policy Accelerator Framework to unlock greater public sector involvement in financing agrifood systems through supporting the implementation of frameworks and strategies adopted by AU Member States
Prior to joining AGRA, David led ActionAid International program and advocacy on increasing Public Finance in Agriculture, where he led the process of the development of AU Guidance note on tracking and measuring the levels and quality of Government expenditures for agriculture, working closely with the AUC, AUDA and the World Bank.
David started his career in Justice Development and Peace Commission as Program Officer, Democratic Governance, later led the Budget Transparency and Accountability Initiative in Nigeria (BTAN), and ActionAid International before joining AGRA. David holds a Masters’ degree in Public Policy and Administration.
