With over 15 years of exceptional experience, Mr. Christopher Kiburu serves as the Chief Credit Officer of the Agricultural Finance Corporation (AFC). He spearheads the operational excellence of the Credit Department. His role encompasses Working closely with the Managing Director to develop and drive challenging but achievable Corporation’s Strategic Objectives and ensure that performance based schemes are in place to drive the business and achieve the desired results.
Mr. Kiburu’s extensive experience spans various high-impact roles across sectors including Commercial banking, Real estate and Government. His career highlights include senior positions at the National Bank of Kenya (NBK), United Bank of Africa (UBA), Ramugo Project Investment Ltd and Agricultural Finance Corporation (AFC). These roles have honed his expertise in credit management and administration, leadership, client relationship management and operational efficiency.
A key strength of Mr. Kiburu is his adeptness in Portfolio management and resource mobilization, a crucial aspect of driving organizational growth and sustainability. His strategic oversight extends to project management, credit control, stakeholder engagement and performance management. His ability to analyze and resolve complex business models and mobilize resources effectively underscores his commitment to advancing the core mandate of the Corporation.

Mr. Kiburu holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) and a Bachelor’s degree from University of Nairobi. His academic credentials and diverse professional experience collectively reinforce his capacity as the in-charge of the Corporations Core mandate.
